What Inspires You?

I love to read design blogs; some may call me a little obsessed! The first thing I almost always read is the “About” section because it usually tells me so much more about the person than the rest of the blog; it tends to be more honest. Most of my design blogs (no matter what type of design) say “I was always rearranging my childhood bedroom” (interior design), or “I was always drawing, crafting, and creating (artsy-crafty activities), or “I was always making lists of what I wanted to accomplish” (life design), or “I was always charting out my outfits” (what I wear).

I would love to say all that about myself too, but the best I can say from what I remember was that I loved art class in junior high, needlepoint and counted cross stitch, writing stories and poems, and most of all reading. I find it somewhat ironic that now I almost never read (well, books). I read dozens of blogs and magazines (both print and online). When asked what my favorite book is, I usually say The Great Gatsby, but truth be told, I only vaguely remember reading it in junior high or high school. What I do remember is the feeling of the time period the book gave me, and of course, the location. The title of this blog says it all, of course.  Kristen DOES Love Design.  And I hope you do too!

P.S.:  Reminder to Kristen to grab a copy of the book from the library this weekend!

So what inspires you?
