Well I’m sure you’re all familiar with this phrase from the genius IFC show, Portlandia. I first read about it here on Design*Sponge – side note, check out the entire website while you’re there, it’s amazing and is one of the “Gold Standards” in my opinion of websites about design).
Anyway, I unfortunately didn’t read about this “put a bird on it” trend until I had, well, already put a bird on it as our guest bathroom has graceful silver birds flying up the wall (it looks better than it sounds, I promise; pictures forthcoming!)
In any case, I did it again! Today I am wearing this shirt (enlarged to show the bird detail!)

I bought it because I loved the color (I’m a sucker for the color gray and anything metallic, silver specifically, like a magpie…wait, is that another bird reference?! I officially give up!) and because it’s just a pretty design, all for less than $10. Done! So…I put a bird on it this time…on me!
